What is your role at Avison Young?

Managing Director, Principal.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I grew up in the business having been exposed to it at an early age by my father.

Who has been the most influential woman in your life?

Easily my mother, but there have been many women in my career who strongly influenced my thinking or perspective.

What advice would you give women starting out in real estate?

Establish relationships and network. You need to be hungry, driven and patient to build a career in CRE.

This year's IWD theme is Choose to Challenge. What do you choose to challenge or celebrate to help create more inclusion in your community?

It is great to see, have, and support women in what has been a historically male-dominated industry. Having driven and successful women in CRE has influenced the industry for the better - creating a more balanced and diverse perspective for our clients.
