What is your role at Avison Young?

European Marketing & Business Development Coordinator.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I started in 2014 with Cushman & Wakefield and stayed for 5 years. I was supporting the Head of Germany growing the German Business and was acting as the link between 350 employees and the higher management. I was also helping to organize our events and fairs, including MIPIM & Expo or all-staff meetings for Germany.

Who has been the most influential woman in your life?

The most influential person in my life was one of my bosses. An Iranian guy, living his life, being creative and having no fear. He always pushed me forward in a positive way and believed in me like maybe nobody did before.

What advice would you give women starting out in real estate?

Stay true to yourself. Speak about objectives, desires, wishes. Don't feel silly for following your goals, ideas & projects.

This year's IWD theme is Choose to Challenge. What do you choose to challenge or celebrate to help create more inclusion in your community?

I would love to push women forward into high job positions.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I moved to the South of France at the age of 24, not speaking one word of French or having connections over there. Directly 2 weeks after, on Christmas there was a robbery in my apartment. It was like a bad movie. Everything got stolen. I decided to stay even with a broken door the landlord didn't want to repair. I found a new apartment in a much better place called "Cap d´Ail." Very small but with a sea view from each room, a lovely concierge like a grandfather and I felt safe again... and had the best time of my life.
