Meet Paige Korte

What is your role at Avison Young?

I am an Associate on the Agency Leasing Team. We represent office buildings in Suburban Chicago and negotiate lease transactions on behalf of the landlord.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I have been enamored with real estate ever since I worked for a leasing company on my college campus, so I was determined to find a career path in real estate. I appreciate all the moving parts of the industry from the planning to construction to architecture, all the way to the end goal: selling or leasing.

Who has been the most influential woman in your life?

My mom, hands down. I wouldn't be where I am today without her selfless support and encouragement. She never missed an event of mine growing up, even if that meant enduring a 4-hour track meet just to watch me sprint a single lap in the last event! To this day, no matter how busy, she makes sure she's there for every life event of mine. She always was, and still is, cheering me on and pushing me to be the best person, friend, athlete, coworker and employee I can be. She constantly inspires me, and I can only hope to be half the woman she is one day!

What advice would you give women starting out in real estate?

I would advise women starting out to start building a network as soon as possible. Ask questions and be willing to learn. Stay fluid and adaptable, the industry is always changing!

I celebrate everyone who has taken on mentorship roles and shared their successes and hardships to support and advise the younger generations.
