Meet Steph Eastwood

What is your role at Avison Young?

Associate Director in the Planning, Development and Regeneration team.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

My career started when I joined Avison Young (formerly GVA) as a graduate planner in the Birmingham Office, after completing a master's in rrban and regional planning at the University of Birmingham in 2013.

Who has been the most influential woman in your life?

My mum.

What advice would you give women starting out in real estate?

1) Don't be afraid to be yourself.

2) Always ask questions, even if they seem silly.

3) Be kind to yourself and others.

This year's IWD theme is Choose to Challenge. What do you choose to challenge or celebrate to help create more inclusion in your community?

I choose to celebrate all of the working parents who have done their best to juggle parenting, work and other commitments, particularly over the last 11 months with home schooling thrown into the mix!

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I love painting and drawing - art is a secret passion.

What women’s organizations would you recommend other women get involved with?

Women in Planning, Women in Property and West Midlands Women's Voice.
