What is your role at Avison Young?

U.S. Director of Office Research.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

A friend of mine suggested I apply for an analyst role at the firm she was with, she said “it just seems like something you’d be good at." I didn’t know a thing about real estate back then and just barely got the job.

Who has been the most influential woman in your life?

Hands down, my mom.

What advice would you give women starting out in real estate?

Don’t be afraid to speak up.

This year's IWD theme is Choose to Challenge. What do you choose to challenge or celebrate to help create more inclusion in your community?

I challenge each of us to take better care of one another, and to take better care of ourselves. Self-care isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I am a HUGE country music fan!! I can’t wait until we can go to concerts again.
