Richard has been an active member of the RTPI and RICS and was for a number of years an Assessor of candidates to the Planning and Development Faculty. He has worked in both the public and private sectors; his previous firms have been multi-disciplinary practices which have given him considerable experience in working with other property professionals and disciplines.

Richard has practiced for over 30 years in the private sector working on various projects throughout the UK promoting and advocating development. He is a specialist in retail planning acting for a range of retailers including B&Q, M&S and Aldi.

He has advised on numerous residential projects throughout the North West and across the country ranging from sensitives sites in the Green Belt to strategic urban extensions.

He has been lead advisor on a number of large spatial masterplan projects – both as strategic policy documents feeding into Local Plans, and complex planning applications and their delivery.

Richard also has a wealth of experience in providing planning advice and delivering regeneration frameworks and planning permissions to both private and public sector clients on a range of high-profile city centre and regeneration projects.
