Josh Carr is in his fourth year with Avison Young. He often takes an innovative analytical approach to assessment appeals by challenging the statistical framework behind assessment models. His assessment appeals in 2020 returned over $1.3 million to taxpayers.

Josh is a Candidate Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Ottawa and is working toward an MBA in Finance from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining Avison Young, Josh served as an Infantry Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. The structure and precision required to succeed in that environment is evident in his approach to assessment appeals.
