Jay Marshall joined Avison Young in May of 2022 as a Principal - Debt & Equity - in the Fairfield Westchester office.  Prior to this he was an Executive Vice President at Goedecke & Co. responsible for origination of debt, equity and structured finance investments on behalf of clients throughout southern New England and Metro New York while following clients around the country.

During his career, Marshall has completed more than $8 billion in commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on office, hospitality, multifamily and industrial properties. Marshall has over 30 years’ experience in commercial real estate including 25 years at HFF, LP, or a predecessor firm, where he held the position of Senior Managing Director in their New York office. He began his real estate career with Harold D. Baker & Company of New York in 1988.

A selection of notable transactions includes the $613 million construction financing of Riverside Parcel J in New York City, the $400 million refinance of the Manhattan Hotel Portfolio and the land/construction loan for the 1.1 million square foot Elk Grove Technology Park in Chicago.


Marshall earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and a board member of the Real Estate Finance Association.
