Avison Young’s Brett Armstrong named among Most Influential Business Leaders on Business in Vancouver’s BC500 list July 29, 2025

Vancouver, BC – Avison Young proudly announces that Brett Armstrong, Principal and Managing Director in Vancouver, has been named an influential business leader on Business in Vancouver’s BC500 list in his first year leading the Vancouver team for the firm.

The BC500 features leaders who have a notable impact on British Columbia’s communities, industries, and economy.

Armstrong is named under this year’s Advice category, a group of trusted advisors who have “collectively influenced critical decisions and policies,” writes Business in Vancouver. He is a seasoned leader who joined Avison Young’s Toronto office in 2012. Armstrong relocated to Vancouver in mid-2024, where he was named Managing Director in November 2024.

“What a ringing endorsement for Brett in his new role as leader, mentor, and guide to the Vancouver team as he continues along his strategic path to build the prominence of Avison Young in the region,” said Mark Fieder, Principal and President of Avison Young in Canada. “In his first few months, Brett has established a plan focused on business development and market share – and with his steadfast commitment to execute, I can see why he’s been named an influential, advisory leader on the BC500.”

Armstrong has focused his career on developing long-term connections with some of the most prominent corporate owners and occupiers across North America. With an emphasis on revenue growth, client experience, team building and career development, he strives to identify opportunities that are true differentiators. Armstrong is particularly passionate about finding ways to weave technology and data-driven solutions into client offerings, and about championing Avison Young’s integrated, holistic approach, where teams partner with service lines and experts across the country and around the world.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be named one of Business in Vancouver’s most influential business leaders this year,” said Armstrong. “Commercial real estate is less about the bricks and mortar, and more about the people and their needs – and I would not be celebrating this honour if not for the privilege I have to partner with colleagues and clients as, together, we advise businesses on reaching their real estate goals”.
