Avison Young’s Neil Lacheur awarded BOMA International’s Henry H. Chamberlain Award for Leadership July 7, 2025

Toronto, ON – Global commercial real estate advisor, Avison Young, is proud to announce that Neil Lacheur, Principal and Executive Vice President, Real Estate Management Services, has been awarded the prestigious, inaugural Henry H. Chamberlain Award for Leadership from BOMA International.

Awarded at the 2025 BOMA International TOBY awards, the Henry H. Chamberlain Award for Leadership honours the association’s recently retired president and chief operating officer, who held his role for 39 years. The award is presented to someone who demonstrates outstanding contributions to the commercial real estate industry, and who leads with clarity and purpose, fostering collaboration and creating a workplace where employees can thrive.

“I am positively thrilled for Neil; this is a well-deserved honour for a visionary, inclusive leader who is deeply committed to his profession – and also one of the humblest of leaders with whom I have the pleasure to work,” said Mark Fieder, President of Avison Young, Canada. “Neil brings a clear vision and strong sense of direction and purpose in all that he does, always intentional in seeking growth opportunities for others.”

With more than 20 years of real estate management experience, Lacheur oversees the firm’s Real Estate Management Services portfolio, leading a team that is responsible for delivering integrated management and reporting services. Collectively, the team manages more than 22 million square feet of retail and industrial space across Canada.

“I am sincerely honoured to win the first-ever Henry H. Chamberlain Award for Leadership as it speaks to everything I hold near and dear: my passion for building strong real estate communities as well as my passion for empowering the people in those communities,” said Lacheur. “I will strive every day to reflect this award in my actions and decisions, as I continue to focus on strengthening the partnership between BOMA International and BOMA Canada.”

Lacheur is also the Chair of BOMA Canada, a dynamic federation comprised of over 3,100 members in the commercial real estate industry, representing more than 2.1 billion square feet of office space.

“This is a fitting tribute to someone who has made a sizeable, valuable impact on BOMA and on our industry,” said Benjamin Shinewald, president and chief executive officer of BOMA Canada.
