New York – Mitti Liebersohn, President and Managing Director of Avison Young’s New York City office, announced today that Brandon Polakoff has been promoted to Principal and Executive Director of Tri-State Investment Sales. Polakoff has served as Senior Director in the Tri-State Investment Sales group for the last three years.

Polakoff, who joined Avison Young in 2018, specializes in the sale of multi-family and mixed-use assets and has consistently been one of the top producers for the firm's Tri-State Investment Sales group. Polakoff spearheads the Manhattan investment sales team and works alongside James Nelson, Principal and Head of Tri-State Investment Sales. His current responsibilities include originating new business, evaluating properties for sale, as well as assisting, reviewing and executing deals.

“Brandon exemplifies the top talent that Avison Young is attracting and developing throughout the company,” Liebersohn said. “We are extremely proud of his accomplishments and look forward to his contributions in his new role as Principal and Executive Director."

Nelson added, “Brandon has had a meteoric rise ever since he was the first hire for the Tri-State Investment Sales group back in 2018. His unique approach to deal-making has been crucial to the group’s success, and he’s known for his meticulous research, attention to detail and creating trusting and lasting relationships with clients.”

Polakoff continues to be recognized for his achievements by both the industry and his peers. He was a finalist in the Real Estate Board of New York’s 2021 Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award for navigating the sale of 198 Prince Street. Avison Young named Polakoff to its Circle of Excellence for top producers in 2020 and Crain’s named him one of New York’s Rising Stars in Real Estate for 2020.
