Avison Young announces 11 new tenants coming to The Post at Cooley Station, a Fry’s Marketplace-anchored retail center in Gilbert, AZ

November 10, 2020

Phoenix, AZ – Avison Young has announced it has negotiated 11 leases for new tenants at The Post at Cooley Station, a 23-acre, 172,000 square-foot shopping center situated at the southeast corner of Williams Field Road and Recker Road in Gilbert, AZ (near the ASU Polytechnic campus and Mesa-Gateway Airport.)

The center is anchored by Kroger-owned Fry’s Marketplace, an essential retailer and the top grocery store concept within the greater Phoenix area, which opened its doors last week.

Avison Young’s Principals Matt Milinovich and James DeCremer and Senior Associate Kristina Remon, who are out of the firm’s Phoenix office, represented the landlord, Evergreen Devco on the pre-leasing efforts for the shop and pad spaces at the center. With just two shop spaces remaining, The Post at Cooley Station is now approximately 90 percent pre-leased with construction/tenant improvements in various phases of completion.

The Avison Young team began pre-leasing the center in spring 2019 upon Fry’s commitment to the project and was able to secure the majority of leases prior to start of construction in late 2019.

“We are pleased to be a strategic leasing partner on behalf of Evergreen Devco, a premier commercial real estate developer,” said Milinovich. “Grocery-anchored shopping centers are a strong draw for customers and subsequently other users seeking a premier location. We believe we have curated a strategic tenant mix for The Post at Cooley Station that will benefit from crossover traffic generated by Fry’s Marketplace.”

Milinovich noted that the center’s location in Gilbert is highly sought after by retailers due to its substantial existing residential inventory and in-progress and planned housing development within the highly coveted master-planned community.

Within a five-mile radius of the center, there is a population of more than 211,000, approximately 41,000 employees, and in excess of 68,000 households. Finally, there are currently more than 2,300 residences in various stages of development.
