Nadira Akbari joined Avison Young in 2016 as Vice President for the Bay Area market. Mrs. Akbari brings years of experience in many aspects of Real Estate, specifically in corporate real estate, transaction management and negotiations, strategic planning, project management, lease administration and design.
Prior to joining Avison Young, Mrs. Akbari co-founded a women owned brokerage and advisory firm in Silicon Valley, where she helped grow the company to 8 people, acquire WBE status, and achieved several industry awards including PowerBroker for Costar in 2015, and Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Top Commercial Real Estate Firms for 2015 and 2016, as well as the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Largest Commercial Real Estate Firm for 2015. Nadira also recently won the CoreNet Global Northern California Young Leader of the Year Award for her achievements and contributions to the industry. She has represented clients and developed regional expertise in Silicon Valley and the East Bay.
Prior to that, Mrs. Akbari helped manage the global real estate portfolio for JDSU, a Fortune 500 Silicon Valley technology company, with over 3M SF and 80 sites globally. She was instrumental in aligning and reducing footprint, streamlining internal real estate processes, renewing and negotiating new leases, relocations and terminations worldwide as well as managing the real estate mergers and acquisitions activities. Nadira’s efforts improved the P&L substantially, positioning the company for a successful split into two companies (Lumentum and Viavi Solutions) a few years later. She received the Finance Recognition Award, NSD Integration Award, and the Outstanding Service & Dedication Award in this role.
At Avison Young, Nadira specializes on Tenant Representation for clients from all fields including Corporate Clients, Tech-Startup, Pre-Post IPO companies, and Professional Services Firms.

Mrs. Akbari holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, East Bay. She also received her Masters of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) in 2012 and is currently pursuing her SLCR and CCIM designations.
