This project encompassed enabling works followed by the fast-track delivery of structural alteration and full refurbishment of Odeon’s most prestigious cinema location, seamlessly linking two separate buildings, installing escalators, glass scenic lifts and reimagining all public spaces to a high quality ’Art-Deco’ finish.
A state of the art Dolby sound and laser projection scheme was installed, including suspension of 420 speakers in the existing fibrous plaster ceiling and a moveable suspended ‘flying’ screen and speaker array. New retail and concessions, including a cantilevered glass box with a cocktail bar space over-sailing Leicester Square were installed. In addition, all mechanical and electrical services were replaced and five auditoria were restepped and fitted out with new high quality electrically powered seating.
