Avison Young enhances Tri-State Debt & Equity Finance platform, welcomes industry veteran Kevin Swartz 2 décembre 2022
NEW YORK, NY Avison Young today announces Kevin Swartz joining the firm’s Tri-State Debt & Equity Finance team. Based in New York, Swartz brings more than 25 years of senior real estate finance executive experience to the team. In his role, Swartz will primarily be charged with originating and executing debt and equity finance assignments in collaboration with Scott and Andy Singer, Principals, and Co-Leads of Tri-State Debt & Equity Finance. Swartz will also spearhead loan workout and restructure assignments.

“We have enjoyed a collaborative relationship with Kevin for more than 20 years, having closed several hundred million dollars of loans for clients together. We explored hiring Kevin several years ago, and our move to Avison Young’s dynamic platform created the ideal venue for him to join us now,” said Scott Singer. “Kevin will bring Avison Young’s best-in-class service to the many institutional clients he has served as both a lender and consultant.”

Over his career, Swartz has held senior positions at several institutional lenders, including Morgan Stanley, Brightspire Capital, Inc., UBS, and Wells Fargo. Swartz also served as a consultant for various institutional clients during the Great Financial Crisis where he advised real estate owners on restructuring of domestic and international distressed debt, completing more than $6 billion of loan workouts, extensions, and discounted payoffs involving securitized and portfolio loans in the U.S. and Europe.

“At this stage in my career, I am energized by the opportunity to take on a more entrepreneurial role with Avison Young, and the partnership with Scott and Andy and their impressive team will catalyze my transition into brokerage,” said Swartz.

Swartz completed his education at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Southern California, and New York University.

“Kevin’s proven ability to adapt to changing market conditions and to navigate complex situations makes him an invaluable addition to the team we are building and represents the investment we’ve made in New York’s capital markets,” said Dorothy Alpert, Principal and Tri-State President, Avison Young.
