Tom Morande joined Avison Young in 2015 as the Chief Accounting Officer to lead the firm’s accounting function. He is responsible for researching and analyzing all accounting matters, overseeing tax compliance and strategic tax planning, managing foreign currency risk with respect to funding and financing the global operations, and representing the accounting function in acquisition analysis and acquisition integration. Tom is heavily involved in financial reporting, including both the internal and external (audit) financial statements.
Prior to joining Avison Young, Tom spent 18 years at JLL, most recently as Chief Operating Officer for the Americas Capital Markets division, responsible for M&A and recruiting as well as overseeing business support functions and managing business plan execution and implementation. Previously, Tom served as the Americas Chief Financial Officer for six years after holding positions of Chief Accounting Officer and Controller for the JLL Americas Region. He directed all financial activities and accounting practices for the $1.3 billion Americas Region which included a team of 350 employees in 20 offices throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America during a period of significant growth. Tom began his career in public accounting working for a Big 4 public accounting firm.
