Frances Lewis joined Avison Young in 2012 and serves as Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing the firm’s global corporate marketing and branding efforts. Her focus is the development of the overall marketing strategy for Avison Young, including branding and marketing processes, resources, tools and functions.
Ms. Lewis has 30+ years of experience as a senior corporate marketing executive and consultant, with deep experience in commercial real estate and fast-growing companies. Most recently, through her consulting practice she counseled a variety of companies in real estate and other industries on marketing and communications issues.
From 2004 to 2008, Ms. Lewis served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Communications and a member of the executive management team for Grubb & Ellis Company, then a NYSE-listed, Top 5 commercial real estate services firm with 6,000+ employees and 130 offices. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Communications for Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE:EOP). There she was responsible for strategy development and execution of all external and internal communications, branding and marketing initiatives pre-IPO through the REIT’s growth into a Fortune 500 – and Most Admired – company with more than 125 million square feet in 730 buildings and $26 billion in total capitalization. Before joining Equity Office, she spent 15 years with Sam Zell’s Equity Group Investments, Inc., one of the world’s largest private equity investors in real estate and corporations, where she built and led an in-house communications agency serving a portfolio that grew from $200 million to more than $10 billion in annual revenues.
Ms. Lewis holds a B.S. degree with honors from the University of Illinois, Champaign. She is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
