The Tom Lee Music Building is located mid-block on the west side of Granville Street between Smithe and Nelson Streets. The 900 block is within the Granville Entertainment District, as designated by the City of Vancouver. Granville Street is a four-lane major traffic artery, which is currently undergoing a major upgrade. One block north of 929 Granville Street is Robson Street, Vancouver’s prime retail streetscape. Sears and Future Shop are located at the Robson and Granville intersection while a Canada Line station is located nearby. From Robson and Granville south to the 1000 block (including 929 Granville Street), the area can be characterized as a Bohemian neighbourhood of movie theatres, live music venues, night clubs, restaurants and edgy retailers catering primarily to younger shoppers.
