Professional Experience
Bill is Vice President and Director of Research for Avison Young’s Canadian operations. With 22 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, Bill is one of Canada’s leading market research analysts. In addition to tracking and interpreting current and future market trends, Bill takes an active role in establishing best practices, insuring data integrity, developing commercial real estate technical reporting and leveraging the scope of research to help support Avison Young’s clients across all business lines.
Over his 22 year career, Bill has held progressive senior research positions with various leading real estate organizations, starting his career at Forecast Data Corporation in 1988, as Research Analyst. Following that, Bill spent three years as Senior Research Analyst at Royal LePage (now Cushman & Wakefield), followed by a national research role with one of Canada’s largest developers, CIBC Development Corporation for six years. Bill then moved on to become Director of National Research with Altus Group where he was instrumental in the evolution and success of the Altus InSite Research Reports - the quarterly publications representing the most comprehensive and up-to-date data on the leasing and investment market in Canada. Prior to joining Avison Young in February 2009, Bill spent two years as Vice President of National Research with Jones Lang LaSalle.

- Long-standing membership with the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP)
- Former participation in the Real Property Association of Canada (RealPac) / AIC Technology Committee whose objective is to develop a set of voluntary definitions of standard terms used in the real estate leasing and investment community.
